We do not offer short term car insurance on our short term car lease range of vehicles. However, there are a number of companies who can help provide insurance cover for these short term car lease vehicles. We recommend that you do take a 12 month insurance policy and if needs be swap it to newer cars as you go along, or terminate the policy (maybe subject to charges) if you wish to return your car with no further need for insurance cover. This usually works out cheaper than a short term car insurance provider.
The insurers need to be informed that the vehicle is not owned by yourself and could be classed as either a “Contract Hire/Lease Vehicle” or a “Daily Rental Vehicle” – A member of our team will let you know the classification of your Short Term car or van.
Many of our customers find it quite easy to cover a short term car lease with a 12 month motor insurance policy. Sometimes this works out much cheaper than using a short term car insurance company, but its always worth getting quotes from several different sources.

We always recommend that customers take a 12 month policy with one of the main car insurance providers, the reason for this is you can pay a higher premium by taking a short term insurance product such as those provided by Tempcover, this is mainly due to the administration costs involved.
Whilst you may not need the insurance for the full 12 months for that vehicle, at the end of say a 6 month contract or a 9 month contract, you can easily swap the policy over to the new vehicle. Alternatively some insurance companies will let you end the policy earlier. occasionally even with the fee’s involved in cancelling the car insurance policy, it can work out cheaper than a short term insurance product.
