With 80% of all company cars being a Vauxhall Insignia, you would be right to think that you’re in for comfort, reliability and cost efficient.
The new model however, takes the Insignia to a new level in the style stakes, so much so they’ve given it a new name; Grand Sport. Vauxhall surely think this will get the new model noticed and peoples’ interest peaked.
In keeping with the new name, Vauxhall have lowered the car by an inch, extended it by 2 inches and given it a more striking overall look. Not necessarily too striking that you’d instantly think ‘sport’ but just enough to stand out and make you look twice. The narrow headlights and longer body give the car a meaner look but Vauxhall have been mindful to keep the sporty look more understated.
With a 0-60 in just 7 seconds, you’re sure to feel a new edge if you’ve previously driven an Insignia. With a choice of 6 turbocharged engines, you won’t struggle to find the right choice for you. The top 2-litre engine boasts a healthy 260bhp but is only available if you opt for the Elite model, along with the 2-litre engine you’ll also get 4-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
If efficiency is more your thing then you’ll probably more inclined towards the 110bhp 1.6, which has official emissions and average fuel economy figures of 105g/km and 70.6mpg respectively.
If you’re already familiar with previous Insignia you’ll notice the extensive revamp of the interior. It’s been nicely finished off and thought out with an 8-inch colour touchscreen and plenty of storage including sizable bins in the doors. If you’re thinking about boot area, you’ll be pleased to know the new model consists of 460-litres so you shouldn’t have any problems with going away!
